چکیده

Abstract The Beerkan method consists of a ponded infiltration experiment from single ring inserted small depth into the soil. Fixed, volumes water are repeatedly poured to maintain quasi-zero head on soil surface. According standard run, new volume is surface when previously applied has completely infiltrated and entirely exposed air ( t criterion). Effect of Varying Rates of Organic Amendments on Porosity and Infiltration Rate of Sandy Loam Soil

Infiltration rate and porosity of sandy loam soil amended separately with goatyard manure (GYM) and poultry waste at 30, 50 and 70 tonnes/hectare each were investigated and the results were statistically analyzed using SPSS ver 17 package. Infiltration rates under GYM amendment and poultry waste amendment showed significant difference (p≤0.01), indicating that the variation of infiltration unde...

Estimation of Soil Hydraulic Properties Curve through Beerkan Infiltration Experiment Algorithms

Nowadays, the Beerkan computational algorithms (BESTslope and BESTsteday) are known as the suitable indirect methods for estimating soil saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) and sorptivity (S), as well as the scale parameter (hg) in van Genuchten soil water retention equation through the data collected in the Beerkan infiltration experiment and other required data. The purpose of this study wa...

Quantifying hysteresis of atrazine desorption from a sandy loam soil.

Batch experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of initial atrazine concentrations and consecutive desorption steps on the desorption characteristics of atrazine from a sandy loam soil. As initial atrazine concentration increased, the average percentage of atrazine desorption on the sandy loam soil ranged gradually from 23.1% to 38.5% after five consecutive desorption steps. The v...

Polyacrylamide and Water Quality Effects on Infiltration in Sandy Loam Soils

Slow infiltration rates constrain effective and economical irrigation in some sandy loam soils in California. Polyacrylamide (PAM) has increased soil infiltration in some areas, especially in soils high in clay or silt. Field trials near Fresno, CA, with PAM failed to show improved infiltration. Laboratory experiments were conducted to investigate PAM effect on infiltration of various quality w...
